Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told reporters Wednesday
that he would bring up several immigration bills and the subject was at the top
of his priority list
. Reid warned Republicans that they voted against such
measures at their own peril and also appealed for GOP Senators to join with
Democrats in promoting legislation. He specifically cited John McCain, a
Senator who was once known as being very pro-immigration, but who ran to the
right on the issue during a White House run four years ago. Also, don't expect immigration to come up in the lame duck session.
