OCAHO finally has a new chief administrative law judge - Jean King. She was appointed in June 2019. Previously, she served the following positions in government: General Counsel of the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) from September 2015 to June 2019; from July 2015 to August 2015, and from December 2012 to October 2014 - deputy general counsel, EOIR; from November 2014 to June 2015 - acting general counsel, EOIR; from October 2011 to December 2012 - counsel to the director, EOIR; from March 2011 to October 2011 - acting director of operations, Board of Immigration Appeals; from 2009 to March 2011 - temporary board member, BIA; from 2006 to 2009 - senior legal advisor at the BIA; and from 1996 to 2006 - attorney advisor at the BIA.

Ms. King received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988 from Brown University and J.D. in 1995 from the College of William and Mary.

Hopefully, this appointment will spur OCAHO to issue more decisions in a timely manner.
