Maryland Tuition Bill Polling Well

Maryland voters will be deciding next month on the fate of a referendum to offer in state tuition to unlawfully present immigrants who meet the state's residency requirements. Similar state level DREAM initiatives have been approved in other states. A Washington Post poll is showing that 59% of Maryland voters are prepared to vote in favor of the referendum. A study by the University of Maryland Baltimore County has also been released showing the referendum would have no appreciable effect on Maryland students.

Mitt Has Romnesia on the DREAM Act

Just three days after hinting he might be prepared to accept a DREAM Act that benefits more than just military enrollees, his campaign is walking it back. From the Washington Times:

Mitt Romney on Tuesday appeared to open new avenues for illegal immigrants to get legal status, but his campaign seemed to close that door somewhat on Wednesday, saying the only path he’s identified is still requiring illegal immigrants to join the U.S. military.
