    Hi All,

My wife is a US Lawful Permanent Resident since 1999. She is not continuously stayed in US but has been in an out after staying 2 or max 3 months in US due to her studies back home and as I am doing job in Mideast and awaiting for an Immigrant visa number. She has once got a Re-entry permit back in Sep 1999 that was valid till Sep 2001.After that she has travelled thrice to USA stayed for 2 or 3 months even less then came back.

She recently travelled on Oct 2nd 2003, but at the Detroit Michigan, the immigration officer warned her verbally that if she travels outside USA and come back they will take her Permanent Resident Card and then stamped on her passport "Advised Residency".

She cannot stay there for a long period of time continuously as I am still waiting for an Immigrant visa number to be available and it might take over 3 years.

Does anyone has faced similar problem with immigration? What are the workaround so that she can travel outside USA and then go back without causing problems to her Permanent Residency status.?

    Please advise.

They submited certified letters from their College to INS and they were granted permission untill they Graduate,It took them 3/4years to Complete the education.
