Does amybody have any experience with an AOS interview for a child? He lives here in USA. My husband USC applied for him. How long approximately does it take to schedule the interview? We are waiting since 1998! What questions would they ask my son? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    Hello Lena,

How old is your child ? Usually when the child goes in for the interview the petitioner and the spouse accompany the child. If the child is really young, they probably will not ask any questions of him. If he is old enough to know his address, and any other minor things...then MAYBE they might ask those questions of him. BUT, more often than not, NO questions are asked of him, the application is reviewed by the Adjudications Officer for completeness, etc. and then is approved if no further information is required of you and a temporary I-551 stamp is issued in his passport, which serves as his temporary residency alien card until his permanent one arrives in the mail. As far as the time period, it really depends on where you have filed. If you inquire at the office where you applied, they can tell you what date they are working on and you can go from there. Good Luck to you and your family.

This sounds encouraging, thank you! My son is 16 years old , but since we applied when he was 13, he doesn't his own passport. He is included in mine. I wonder if they wouldn't mind stamping my passport?
    Thanks again!
