Thread: Frankfurt, Germany Consulate

    Hello all,
This board has been such a great help to me during the process of my K1 petition.
I was wondering if anyone has knowledge as to whether the Frankfurt, Germany Consulate will open a provisional file on a approved K1 case.
I only ask because I have sent them a fax asking for them to open a provisional file August 25, and to date, my fiance has not recieved his packet.
Thank you for any information anyone may have on this.

There is a lot of visa information on this website from actual couples who have gone through the process. You can sort it by embassy, there are several from Frankfurt, Germany. Good luck

    For WakerJane:

You need not to ask them to open the file it is already opened when you have fax them all the information.
Consulate is waiting for their copy of the K petition.
It takes about 6 to 8 weeks to transmit the papers from INS/BCIS/or any Agency to any US Foreign Mission around the world.

I would call to confirm they received the fax. I have recently faxed information which the receiver has no knowledge of. Once you know they have received your fax you will probably feel a little better. We know the process will take time and, as I understand it, it can take a month or so for the fiance to receive the packet. Also, not every consulate will open a provisional file - do you know for certain Frankfurt will? At least you have received the initial approval - you are well on your way so try to be patient. Good luck
