    WHO HAS MORE INFLUENCE ON BCIS, A LAWYER, CONGRESSMAN OR SENATOR?MY FRIEND WAS INTERVIEW FOR HIS CITIZENSHIP ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO AND STILL HAS NOT HEARD A WORD FROM BCIS.HE HAS BEEN TO THE LOCAL OFFICE MORE THAN 10 TIMES AND ALL THEY TELL HIM IS THAT HIS CASE IS PENDING.WHO SHOULD HE SEE SO THAT BCIS CAN SPEED UP THEIR INVESTIGATION AND RENDER JUDGEMENT TO HIS CASE.
    PLEASE ADVICE, FRIENDS IN THIS FORUM.

    Phone the hot line on 800 375 5283 and speak to an advisor. They will look into the case and advise you of situation.

    James, the then-so-called INS should have made a favorable or unfavorable decision 180 days after the initial interview (unless they gave you in writting that further evidence, examinations etc. were necessary).

    As a qualifying petitioner for naturalization and if you have submitted all prove for all the requirements as requested, you can petiton the federal court after the above mentioned time limit (which is way past due at 2 yrs. in your friend's case) to make a decision.

    Since it is such a long time, your friend should make sure first if the application has been administratively closed as having been "abondened" (check that via a "Freedom of Information Act" FOIR). If so, you need to contact BCIS to get permission to re-open the application or you may have to submit a new application ... Good luck.
