Thread: green card interview

  1. #1
I WENT TO THE GREEN CARD INTERVIEW WITH MY WIFE (SHE IS THE CITIZEN) AND EVERYTHING WENT FINE. IT SEEMS THAT WE DID WELL. WE HAD ALL THE PAPERS AND ANSWERED ALL THE QUESTIONS.
AT THE END THE OFFICER SAID "EVERYTHING LOOKS GOOD" ALTHOUGH SHE DID NOT GRANT ME WITH THE GREEN CARD AND JUST FINISHED THE INTERVIEW.
I DECIDED TO ASK ABOUT THE PASSPORT STAMP AND SHE DID REFUSE TO STAMP IT AND SAID SHE NEEDS TO GO TROUGH THE PAPERS AGAIN AND MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OK. SHE DID NOT TAKE MY EAD CARD OR I-94. THAT MEANS SHE DID NOT APPROVED MY APPPLICATION DURING THE INTERVIEW.
ON THE OTHER HAND SHE DID NOT ASK FOR ANY ADDITIONAL INFO OR PAPER. JUST TOLD US TO WAIT.
IS THAT A COMMON SITUATION OR THAT MEANS SOMETHING WE SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT? SHE SAID EVERYTHING WAS GOOD BUT DID NOT GIVE THE GREEN CARD!!!

The officer will review with the supervisor. After that a letter will be mailed to you. Hopeflly, you will get the green card soon in the mail. Good luck.

Seems they aren't giving approvals much these days at some interviews. If everything is ok, it shouldn't be long before you get an answer. They are supposed to review with a senior officer before approval is given. I had the same thing with my I-751 interview in 2005 and exactly one week later got the approval letter (although she did fingerprint me, take my signature and take the conditional card off me).
