What are my chances?? Husband in West Africa
denied because of overstay. Filed for a waiver with Accra,Ghana offices. We now have a premature baby born September 28th weighing 2 lbs. that is still in Intensve Care isnt that a hardship?? How long do they take, been about 2 to 3 months. We were told that things filed overseas can take shorter periods of time??Does anyone no what I can do to speed this up. I know . YEAH RIGHT.

I know you need your husband with you, I wish you the best with your new baby and your situation. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Umm.. we are overseas and they quote us 1 to 1.5 years for a response... which is a very long time. With some luck it might take slightly less, but three months have already passed... in fact we are working on almost nine months right now.

The premature baby in intensive care is definitely a hardship in my opinion. If phrased correctly, and appropriately documented, I don't see how they could disagree, but just to be on the safe side I would try to think of other hardships that might be applicable.

Have you written up your letter yet? Have you seen the other postings on this board about the I-601?

    Best of luck to you!
