Thread: Visa waiver question

    Hi,

I am traveling to the US on business for 1 week. Background info: I am a
self employed computer programmer living and working in Ireland, I have a
client in the US who has arranged meetings for 1 week, I have a return
ticket that shows I am only going for 1 week. Should I have any problem
entering the US under the Visa Waiver program? What kind of documentation
would back me up, eg. my mortgage statement - which shows my home address in
    Ireland, a bank statement?

    Thanks for your help.

Are you a permanent resident/citizen of Ireland?

If so (especially as a citizen) there should be no problems at all.

yes, I'm an Irish citizen, but I thought it might be a problem because my reasons for entering are business related, ie. not a straightforward holiday.

You should have no problems, every day thousands of people enter the US for the same reason as you do.

I have entered dozens of times, be it for business or pleasure, and have never had problems.
Probably, the most they will ask if you come for business, is what kind of business you are coming for.

    Just don't be nervous (-:

Good luck and enjoy your trip.
