hello all, looking for advise. My landlord has just raised my rent again. I have been renting for 5 years now and am thinking of buying a small house. My rent is extremely high, and i worked otu that my mortgage payments will be much less. Anyway what are my chances of getting a loan or buying a house. I have a apprived I-140 and i am still waiting for my i-485 to be approved, i have I-765. It is possible to buy a house with my status

Sure it is possible ,if u have a good credit, but be sure 100% that u are going to get ur self legalized before buing a house. I will not involve myself in buying a house unless I have my green card in my pocket because I believe in one thing in USA i.e " Hey u never know".

you do not need a green card in order to buy property in the united states. the problem you might run in if you don't have one will be a higher downpayment. your approval notice should be enough to sign the documents. With the intrest rates so low and lender fighting for customers you should not have any problem.

two year's tax returns, w-2's, bank statements 2 months, current lease, and pay stubs. rule of thumb for the amount borrowed is your payments can not be higher than 30% of your gross income ( before taxes)so if you make 3 k a month your your payment can be 1000 and your loan amount can be up around 130's
