Thread: Travel on Green Card(expired AP)

    Travel on Green Card(expired AP)

My parents had to leave USA on the advanced parole(AP) during their adjustment of status(I-485) while they are waiting for their green card, due to the medical reasons.

While they are in India, they got their green card delivered to USA address which was sent to them in India.

They are planning to return to USA for good in Dec 2015. Their advanced parole(AP) expires on 11/16/2015.

Do they have to return to USA before their advance parole expires or can they use their valid green card to enter into USA even after advanced parole(AP) expires?

Can they ignore advanced parole(AP) expiration because they have valid green card in possession? In other words, can they travel on their green card after their current parole expires?

Left to India on advanced parole(AP)- Nov 2014
Green Card Approved - Apr 2015
    Advanced parole(AP) expiration - Nov 16 2015
Going back to USA - Dec 2015

They should be able to return using their green card after the advance parole expires.
