Teodora D. Purcell is a certified specialist in Immigration and Nationality Law by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization, and an Associate with Fragomen, Del Rey Bernsen & Loewy, LLP, a global immigration law firm in its San Diego office. Ms. Purcell obtained her LLM in Comparative Law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, and holds J.D. and LLM degrees from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Bulgaria, where she is also a licensed attorney. She has extensive experience in all facets of immigration practice and has handled numerous employment and family based immigration cases, as well as removal defense, asylum, naturalization and other special immigrant cases. She is also experienced in administrative and federal immigration appeals and has successfully argued before the U.S. Federal Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit Court. Ms. Purcell’s current practice focuses on corporate immigration and compliance issues where she handles a wide variety of business immigration matters, She is dedicated to pro bono work, representing pro bono asylum seekers and unaccompanied minors in Immigration Court hearings and providing pro bono assistance to victims of domestic violence and other crimes with their VAWA, U or T visa cases. She is also an instructor in Immigration Law at the University of California San Diego Extended Studies program.
