Thread: dream act?

  1. #1
Hi folks i just have couple questions. Im 17 and i heard about the dream act thats in the works to give me a chance to further my education and thatll give me a permanent residency. I meet all the requirements for it but recently havent heard much about really anything. I know that President Bush proposed a new amnesty law but how long will that take to get its approval? I am also not able to obtain a drivers license and it is not the most easiest thing for me to have considering cant really get anywhere without it these days. My other question was is it possible to be adopted by my aunt who is a us citizen? Would i be able to get a working visa?

    Thnx for your time

First impression, no, you cannot legalize your stay.

    There are some exceptions however.

Please let us know how (visa type) and when you enterd the US and how long you have been out of status.

I am not a lawyer nor do I claim to be one so please double-check any information given by me, or anyone else for that matter, with a certified (immigration)lawyer before you take any further steps.
