Thank you, for all the responses from all of you knowledgeable individuals.

You could always go to google, enter USCIS processing times, click the service center and get the information yourself. My own thoughts are that its always easier when someone gives you the answer.

Unfortunately, there's only one way to know exactly what your wait time will be: wait and see. The service centers speed up and slow down all the time.

However, you can go to the processing report, as Julie suggested, and see what date the California Service Center is currently processing - this will give you an idea of how long it might take for your petition to be approved, but it is not a guarantee.

Good luck! At least you can be glad that you got to file in California and not Nebraska or Texas, which are both currently much slower.

Thank you Julie and Esperanza. Does either of you know after the I-130 has been approved how long does it take for the file to be sent to the consulate in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico?

    Thank you.

    yoqui,

Our lawyer said that the probable wait time between I-130 approval and an interview date in Juarez is 4 to 6 months. Are you or your spouse from Mexico? My husband is from Mexico. Have you filed the I-130 already? I'd like to hear more details about your situation/plans, if you want to share.
