Thread: Re: Sex offender with my wife: (Case of a child sexually assaulting another, then later marrying her and presently facing deportation!)

I do not condone what this then 17 yr old minor, now adult did to his still teenage wife.

However we should keep things in perspective and remember that this was a sin committed by two children, at the time of the incident.

He was just 17 and she far younger at the age of 13. I personally don't approve of adolescent sexual adventures. I believe kids at that age should be more concerned with growing up and discovering who they are as individuals, before delving into the grownup world of sex, pregnancy marriage and parenthood, etc.

Still we must consider the fact that this male child, now turned man has tried to make restitution of some sorts, by marrying the girl and accepting responsibility for his little son.

Those who plan to deport him, should think of the effect his removal to El Salvador, will have on his wife and child.

Not only has she already had her childhood torn away from her, but now people want to deprive her, of her (Yea maybe a rascal of a partner, but still her legitimate husband) husband and the father of her child.

Thus in one stroke, they would be rendering her both single/a single mother, at the tender age of 17.

The law is right and must be upheld! Without it we all would return to life in the jungle, life in the swamps, a most horrifying prospect! Still we all know that the law is very often blind. And that a strict application of the letter of the law in some circumstances, only serves to defeat the true purpose and spirit hidden behind the letter of the law.

The young man If I must remind you, has turned his life around, he has a job and is providing for the injured female child and her son.

Why render the son fatherless and the mother lonely/single/miserable by deporting him!

Would the INS not simply be increasing this young girl's already many troubles, by such a thoughtless act?

Think of the implications of breaking up a fledging family, O blind (In this instance) INS! Before you act precipitately and destroy a new home!!!
