The Connecticut Senate on Thursday approved granting driverís licenses to immigrants without regard for their legal status in the United States.
In a 19-16 vote, the Senate on Thursday morning passed the measure, which had already been approved last week by the lower house and has the support of Gov. Daniel Malloy.

The measure, which will enter into force in January 2015, demands that people requesting driverís licenses prove their identity with two documents and show that they have resided in the state for at least 90 days.
