Thread: Is Advance Parole an option for Merchant Marine professionals?

  1. #1
case refers to petition by USC based on marraige between foreign national and USC for the AOS and Green Card.

The candidate is a Merchant marine professional having qualifications and licenses from the UK or British Marine Coast Guard Agency in Great Britain.
the requirement for the UK Merchant Navy is to have a minimum of 12 months of work experience at sea on the ships within the last 5 yrs in order to revalidate the license as Officer on the ship.

The US Coast Guard which is the equivalent body in the USA does not issue officer category licenses to non-citizens.

the citizenship process takes a long time in this country.

During this process of citizenship or AOS one is not permitted to leave the country.

The primary profession of the candidate is the Merchant Marine .

Are there any exceptions to this ?

    Please advise...
