Here it is a resume of what is going on with my application:
    ************************************************
    1. august-18-1999 we got granted "political asylum"
    2. for two years our case was in appeal court which
    was dismissed
    3. In October 2001 we applied(the whole family) for
    permanent resident status.
    4. Case moved from Nebraska to NY.
    5. We contacted USCIS and they told us that your
case is in the "Letigation Unit"
    6. We contacted the congressman after 6 months
and they told us that the case was in the
    "US Immigration and Customs Enforcement"
    department.

// we have been asked for fingerprints 3 times already(pictures and everything)//
PLEASE DOES ANYBODY KNOW WHY OUR CASE IS THERE FOR ANY REASON AND HOW LONG CAN IT TAKE TO GET AN ANSWER. (we are still dealing with the congressman).

    THANK YOU GUYS!

take an info pass appointment and ask to speak to USCIS supervisor.. your case suppose to be done by now.. if everything is clear you should have already received GC.. get an Info Pass @ federal plaza. you need to go to 3rd floor first, and explain then they will send you to 8th floor. you will get answer there. you may or may not have biometric clearaqnce problem. check it out.. let me know. I will advise you next.
Its a discussion, not a legal advise..
