Thread: MinuteBigots, a slap in the face...

Doesn't this do wonders to instill confidence in our Border Patrol and DHS? They have time to keep tabs on the Minutemen, but can't control the borders? Makes one wonder what their priorities are--and that doesn't bode well for getting a guest worker program or amnesty through Congress.

Here's an interesting article and video related to the Minutemen Project. Even if you agree with them or not, it's sad to see people taken advantage of by those they trusted. Like everything else, it's all about the money.

Wow! I just watched the video. That Simcox is a cynical thief!!!!. He admitted receiving at least $250,000.00 in donations. Building the longest fence they propose (150 feet) at the maximum cost of $150.00 a foot, would cost only $22,500.00. Of course, the fence might be only 50 feet long, and cost less than $125.00 per foot (http://www.azcentral.com/news/articl...ence09-ON.html). He claims that the money is used "to buy food", yet the food is sold to the MinuteBigots, according to the video of the investigation.

I wonder who would be so stupid to donate to those lawnchair warriors. Oh, wait, SunRabidUSA just told us that he sent his donation...

I also read an article that claimed MMP would need a permit in order to build the fence they wanted even if it's on private property and that staunch opposition would probably kill that project as well. Makes you wonder where all the money they collected for the fence went to.

I take it Aliba, you have not visited the minitemen website, have you. If you have, then it should be very apparent that it is no secret where they will be within a few days. They advertise their location well in advance before they ever show up. This means a rookie can monitor the web site fairly easily and still have time for a few tours on the border.

On the other side, they do not exactly advertise when they will ocme, how they will come, where they will come exactly, what clothes they would be wearing, etc. Of course, someone with a Ph.D should be able to deduct the facts instead of the asinine post one has just posted.
"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passion, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." John Adams on Defense of the boston Massacre

    Hudson,

minute-men don't "come" - aliens from the other side of the Border do.
Minute-men are supposed to (per their own admission) wait and look out for illegal border crossings, then, once alien is apprehended they have to call US Border Patrol and turn the individual over.

The major allegation raised here on OP is that DHS informs Mexicans of whereabouts of minute-men, thus jeopardizing the operation.

    But it is not true.

DHS and Border Patrol are Government organizations and they follow certain protocol while doing their jobs.
When alien is turned over to them they are obliged to offer the counsel.
And , once alien reports to his counsel of his whereabouts - it is then being reported on Mexican website.
Also, if there are allegations of mistreatment, abuse and violence on part of minute-men it is reported to proper organizations as well.

    What's wrong with that?

Well, apparently minute-men would like to impose their own will on entire country, including the Federal Agencies, and force the latter not to follow the letter of law and regulations on the book "so minute-men can be more effective".

Obviously DHS is the arm of the Federal Government and carries out its' duties according to the will and intention of the United States Congress and People of America - not some group of "minute-men" vigilantes (whose leader, btw, is already being accused of not being able to account for millions of dollars he collected to keep aliens off the border).

    Bottom line:

Protecting Borders is the job of the Federal Government and DHS - not "minute-men" or whatever spontaneously created organization.

If you follow this line of thinking then you must also believe:

    1. Communty block watch programs should be discontinued as enforcing law is the job of loca police

    2. Volunteer disaster-relief agencies should be abolished as the job of providing such relief is the job of FEMA

    3. Volunteer fire departments should be abolished as the job of fighting fires belongs to paid professionals.

    4. Self-help legal refrences should be discontinued because this is job of PAID attorneys. (unfortunately many DO believe this one AND try to enforce it)

Under the Federal Law, of which everyone in US jurisdiction is subject, Protection of US Borders IS Federal Duty and is to be carried out by Federal Agents.

Yes, sugarpuff, IF one follows your line of thinking and so called "LOGIC" - which is YOURS as evident from what you wrote above, then one would also believe all kind of nonsense that you write on this board.

Obviously I am not the one to believe in what doesn't make sense.
