Today is a great day for all fair minded american citizen on the immigration debate!!!

Rep. Tom delay's career will soon end, and to tell you the truth, i cant feel sorry for this guy that keep blaming americans problem on those poor immigrants. The only reason why republican control the house is because of money he laundered and then passed it along to other republicans in tight election races in texas..He's the reason why we still dont have a real immigration reform bill.

(rep az)J.D hayworth and (colo.)Tom tandcredo are also on the hook and are sweating bullets at this exact momment because they took large money from delay and abramoff and the investigation is still on going..so lets prey those 2 anti immigrants politician also get shown the door because they are the real law breakers.

We shouldnt take j.d and tandcredo seriously whenever they talk abouT immigrants breaking the law NEVER AGAIN HAHAHAHAHA SAY SOMETHING NOW TANDCREDO YOU LAW BREAKER..GET OUT OF MY COUNTRY

albatross23: you're not going to get your guest-worker visa anytime soon. The American people, as demonstrated by their Representatives' votes in the House of Representatives recently, oppose rewarding illegal aliens who have shown a total disregard for America's laws and sovereignty.

Furthermore, you are slandering people who have not been indicted with any criminal charge...namely, Representatives Hayworth (R-Arizona) and Tancredo (R-Colorado). Representative DeLay (R-Texas) has been indicted, but in America - if not in your third-world country of origin - people are innocent until proven guilty.

In any event, keep dreaming about your guest worker visa...that's the only chance you have of getting anywhere close to one.

Actually I bet 06 will be looked at as the year that Tancredo rose to power.

He saying A LOT of things that A LOT of average joe's want to hear.

Innocent until proven guilty, interesting concept. But in the U.S. not everybody's innocent until proven guilty. Immigrants, by virtue of INA, are guilty until proven innocent. When a conviction or any official finding of guilt is not required to sustain a charge, the person is being declared guilty by default. Also, the standards don't even amount to those of "reasonable doubt" when the burden of proof resides on the government. But when the burden of proof resides on the alien, the standards for evidence and proof are much higher than those used to validate a death sentence imposition when the case is handled by the District Attorney's office. Wanna keep discussing the fairness of the law?

With all due respect, Houston, but immigration law is not generally criminal...it's civil law. That's a fundamental difference.

No person has a right to immigrate to America. It's entirely at America's discretion as to whether an individual qualifies...or not.

Even in civil proceedings, it's the plaintiff who has the burden of proof. No assumption is made regarding the innocence or guilt or anybody, this is why it's called "finding of guilt". Immigration law "presumes" the candidate inadmissible, there's already a pre-set state of mind that the "applicant" must overcome. This is the law; and judges, adjudicators and inspectors do not have a choice but to enforce it.
