I think that you must also be able to write correctly in English before you can become an American citizen. Obviously, your time overseas wasn't spent learning how to spell.

During the interview, you will be asked to correct any information that was wrong on your application.

If you lie, and the officer finds out you lied, you will be denied for a lack of good moral character. You should be able to file again five years after your denial.

If you tell the truth and are ineligible for lack of physical presence, you will be denied and can reapply when you meet the eligibility requirements.

If you tell the truth and are eligible, then you will be approved and become a US citizen.

Ignoring the fact, that SunDevil is a little disgruntled tart. And that his answer was less helpful to me than his birth to society, I would like to point out, that I was asking for a friend of mine, whos parents died both within 3 months. There was alot of stuff to take care about in his home country and alot of problems he had to deal with.

Thank you Old Man for your help.
