Thread: Pls. help us be reunited with our spouses

  1. #1
Please help stop inhumanity of family separation in the US. Please support bill H.R. 3701, which can reduce the waiting time of spouses and minor children of LPR to 6 months from 6-7 years.
I have just read and signed the online petition:

"HELP REUNITE FAMILIES TORN APART BY IMMIGRATION LAWS"

hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition
    service, at:

    http://www.PetitionOnline.com/usinpac4/

I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider
    signing yourself.

Honestly, I hate the idea of someone being separated from spouse or children.... but if they're going to speed up a process I feel that it should be for citizens first.

    I agree with Still Learning.

I agree that families should be united, but I agree with Still Learning. Citizens should come first.

I just posted, wondering where you were, Gluhbirne, and there you are!

So this is only for people of Indian decent? From what I read it is, and if in fact it is, why aren't the people of other countries included, that may have been waiting longer?

  8. #8
No one should have to wait a long time, but a permanent resident can always "go back home" to his/her country if s/he gets really fed up with waiting. A US citizen can't "go back home" to his/her country to be with his/her spouse, because the US is his/her home!! I think all the laws need complete revision. The system is obviously broken and too many people are paying the price...

    Why are you creating petitions?

file an i-130, i-485, k1 or k3 and then wait about 6 months or so and they he/she can come here and live with you! Yes, it's THAT freakin' easy!

Get a lawyer if u need someone to help you create the forms. Your spouses are only a few months away from being with you. MILLIONS of Americans have gotten their foreign spoues here quite fine that way.

The starter of the thread is not a citizen, but an LPR. The rest of us were just stating an opinion; that we think that US citizens' petitions should take priority over those of LPRs, which they currently do.

    Have a nice day
