Hi, Immigration reform Bill passed. How long it takes before it will be law. Do we have to wait for another long years or months. I mean family category or Employment based. Will it be benefited for EB base n FB base category who had already waited 5 to 7 yrs.If yes then how long it will take
Please need some clarification about this law .Can anyone explain.

With any luck, the house will stand firm and kill the ridiculous parts of the senate such as giving better rights to illegals than Americans. Lets hope and pray that the whole bill dies in the conference.......better to have no bill than to repeat the mistake of 1986

A bill will pass with border security and guest worker program but the illegal and family must return home first to apply, then just the worker can come back for 2 years and the employer will pay all medical for the guest. This will solve the school, prison, hospitol, welfare, driving without lic and insurance problems.
    its the only way

Such Bill may very well pass, but WILL illegals LEAVE to come back?

These guys should be writing Sci-Fi books instead of contemplating legislations...

Once they know they get their social # checked and can not get a job and get deported they will leave as the house bill does.

There has not been an immigration reform bill since 1963. This bill is only puttin a bandaid on a situation that has gotten headlines. Although I agree with most of the provisions of the bill, there are some provisions I do not agree with.

To answer your question, House leaders will send the bill to the house standing committees on Judiciary. From there, it will either die a slow death in committee or will be changed significantly where a conference report will need to be negotiated. In all likelihood, both parties will use the bill to galvanize their support to try to win an election. Therefore, if it passes, it will be passed and signed after the 20006 mid term elections.

Wasn't the similar logic behind 1996 Law - increase penalties, eliminate reliefs, put 3-10 year bars for overstays and etc.

And what we have 10 years later?

Pass HR4437 and wait another 10 years and deal with 120 million illegals...

    Oh well..
