    If you have an appoitment for an interview (I-485) but your passport has expired. What would happen?

    They won't stamp it!!!!!!!!!
    So Get it renewed

    Will they give me at last the green card? That's all I need. No immediat need to travel oversea.

    I think they will, providing your security clearance is back.

    Depending on what country you are from, your consulate should be able to get you an emergency passport. With all the paper work, pictures and fed-exing mine took only about 1 week. Try and contact your consulate. They didn't even charge me extra for the passport, just the cost of fed-ex. Worth a try anyways.

    I had conditional AOS interview 4 months before my passport was about to expire. They stamped it with no problem and did not even look at the expiration date.

    you lose your citizenship and are deported off the earth!
