What is the info you passed on to Erin about her
illegal boyfriend. I've been married to my husband
for 14 years and he thought his immigration paperwork
was okay. He and his family filed for amnesty back in
the late '80s, however, we found out five years ago
that the INS never finished processing his I-698
application (adjust from temp to perm) so were told to
refile and they are denying the application. We have
a good lawyer, and have spoken to other lawyers, who
all say the same thing - I will have to petition for
him and he will have to volunteer to leave the country
and wait for the I601 Wavier to be processed. We have
two children and will loose everything we have if he
has to leave the country. All his family is here in
the US and he has no one in his home country. His
parents brought him to the US at the age of 2 and he
has never stepped foot on his native ground. If you
have information that could help us, please share it
    with me. Thanks.
