Thread: New law for illegals

  1. #1
I heard in a conversation a few days ago that the law regarding illegals marrying a US citizen changed last month. If an illegal entered US illegally without inspection and married a USC they do not have to leave the country and adjust status from their home countries. According to the new "LAW" they can adjust status without living US. Did such a law pass? I am just curious to know because I told these people that they were wrong.

    You told them correctly

No new legislation has been passed relative to EWI as yet. Last legislation to allow for amnesty 245I of EWI to be married to US citizen without going to home country ended April 30 2001. $1000 penalty was accessed when filing form I-485A to adjust status.

Probably another "Notario" in California made it up lately to rip-off poor Mexicans..
