Thread: Request for Initial Evidence.

  1. #1
    Hi,
I have a question that may not be answered by anyone, but we really cannot afford a lawyer at this point. I got a request for Initial information from USCIS this Friday. They say we didn't send in enough documents about my husband's (my sponsor) income. He is not required to file a federal tax return as his EARNED income is not high enough to do so. Thus, he did not need to provide W-2 forms either. We DID write, as required, a letter of explanation, plus we added his social security benefits receipts and his VA (military) benefits statement. But they sent us the request for initial evidence. Does anyone have an idea what kind of documents they need? Shall we just resend it and make the explanation in the letter more detailed? The proof of his not being required to file federal income tax return is the fact that he is getting SS benefits. He does, with his benefits and earned income, have more than 125% of the poverty line income.
Thanks for your replies, I hope I was clear :-?
