Thread: When will I hear from NVC?

  1. #1
Does any know how long it takes for Visa Center to actually receive cases, which have been forwarded from the service centers ? I got my approval notice on March/02/04 , saying my case had been sent to NVC; however I haven't heard anything from them yet. Any information will be highly appreciated,
    Thanks.

You need to tell us more.

When is your priority date? - the date on your approved I-130 letter.

Who filed the petition for you? - depending on which category, check with the DOS monthly Visa Bulletin if a Visa is available for you.

Are you in the US/Outside the US? - When a visa becomes available to you, or when your priority date becomes current - NVC will notify you and the petitioner that a Visa has become available to you and will need to know where you would like your Visa be forwarded to. If you are outside the US, Couselor processing will be the next step, and NVC will locate your local US embassy by using your adress. If you are in the US, you will need to Adjust your status by filing I485 application to BCIS with the approved I130 notice to show you have a visa available to you - they determine that when they process the application.

    I hope that helps.
