Thread: Holiday home and retirement

My husband and I are purchasing a house in the US as a holiday home. I am retired, he is about to. Our savings pensions from the UK are more than enough to live on in America, so we will not need visas to work. How long can we stay without falling foul of the immigration laws?

If you enter the us via the waiver system you can stay 3 months only. If you get a B1/2 visa via the embassy in London you can stay for a maximum 6 months per year.
You must keep your uk address and prove that the uk is your permanent residency.
You cannot just retire to the US.
