Thread: Employment authorization card question

  1. #1
I'm waiting on my EAD. I filed for it on December 18, 2003 at a local Washington DC office (my application is based on marriage to USC). Could anyone tell me is its true that I can just go into the local office after my 90 days is up and get a temporary EAD? Their website indicates that they are about a month behind with processing those type of applications. I'm just wondering if the "90 day" promise is something i can cling on. My current OPT runs out on 2/29/04, and i have a job I'll have to leave until I get that stupid card.

    Please reply.

You can indeed request an interim EAD after 90 days, you just have to go in person to the office you filed with your NOA letter.

I am not a lawyer nor do I claim to be one so please double-check any information given by me, or anyone else for that matter, with a certified (immigration)lawyer before you take any further steps.
