    hello everyone.
Do you know how long you have to be present in the US so that you can legalise under the pending bill?

Won't know until the "pending bill" becomes the real bill. We just have to wait until it all has gone through the process.

The current bill says you have establish proof of employment and residence in the US before Jan 7 2004 to be eligible. I don't know what the final outcome will be but it make sense to legalize all undocumented on the date of enactment of the bill.

INA is based on equity. Cancellation of removal, adjustment of status to LPR by marriage to U.S.C., and many other benefits also consider equity. It only makes sense to preserve the standard under any new legislation.

Your absolutely right houston. There is a clause in the bill that states that people who register under H2C cannot change status to LPR if they get married to USC. Does'nt make sense to me. Whoever register under H2C becomes a slave to it. Some of the clauses in the new bill are not fair and don't make sense. Senator Brownback said during the judiciary committee hearing the more thought should be given to the bill as the final product should be perfect and thye don't have to deal with this issue on this scale again. I think there will be additional changes when the bill reaches the senate floor for debate as what came out of the judiciary commitee is not the final product and there is a clause for an additional review 90 days after the bill passes to make any changes if needed.

I hope the final product is a comprehensive bill and deals with all aspects in a fair manner.
