    Hello ILW,

Thanks for your board and the valuable insights that we gained for free. I just wanted to share my experiences. The following is the timeline for our AOS to USC (we filed all our paperwork without an attorney)
May 2001 - Married USC and filed AOS paperwork at Newark INS (130/485 etc)
June 2001 - Interview, granted conditional GC and EAD.
Sept 2001 - Received plastic GC.
June 2003 - Filed forms jointly to remove CGC.
June 2004 - Received NOA stating that files will be transferred to Newark for second interview.
Sept 2004 - Filed N400, even though we were awaiting second interview.
    Oct 2004 - Fingerprint notice
Feb 2005 - N400 interview letter for April.
April 2005 - Had both the interviews at Newark USCIS and became USC.
(The only questions that were asked for the 751 interview were - are you still married and show me a copy of your 2004 1040.)

    Sure Vito,

We submitted the following documents for the I751 to Vermont.
The 751 application, joint bank statement, joint home deed, joint life insurance, copies of our driving license to show the same address, and three years of 1040, spouses natz cert and marriage cert. (I think that was all)

N400 - completed application, 2 passport size photos, spouses' natz cert and marriage cert, and letter 1722 from IRS for the past three years. That was it.

N400 Interview - the only documents that were requested was my passport, spouse's natz cert, and IRS 1722 letter showing 2004 tax (we always file our taxes by the end of Jan)

(We never sent a cover letter with any of our applications nor did we send letters from friends or photos us together.)

Also I guess our case was really straightforward - no traffic tickets, we have lived in the same address, no trips outside the US, no children or other prior marriages, no deportation proceedings etc.

    THANK YOU ILW

    Sandra-d,

Thank u very much for the detailed reply. I am sure readers will benefit from this info. One clarification regarding joint home deed. Is it the lease deed or ownership deed? I will appreciate ur reply to this clarification.

Thanks again Sandra-d & GOD BLESS YOU.

    Hello again Vito,

We own a house together and we made a copy of the first page of the purchase deed, the page that lists the buyers, price and the seller etc.
