Thread: GC holder to petition family

My friend was petitioned by his US citizen father for immigrant visa. It was approved. At the time of approval, he was not yet married , thus, on the questionnaire as to whether or nor he is married the answer was no. A few months after, he got married. Thus on the date of interview, he was married but he did not bother to advise the interviewer. Therefore, in the file of the INS, he remains single. How does he petition his wife and child ? Was there a violation or something? Is it imperative to tell the interviewer that the would be immigrant got married before the interview, that would have affected the priority date. What is the solution ? Thanks
