Thread: Senate conferees named..house conferees?

  1. #1
The senate has named their senators that will face off against the house's congressmen since it is now guaranteed that the bill will get throught the senate will zero opposition.

Senate negotiators will include some of the strongest supporters of the compromise legislation: Sens. Graham, Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), John McCain (R-Ariz.), Mel Martinez (R-Fla.), Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) and Ken Salazar (D-Colo.) But the committee will also include three of its most ardent opponents, Sens. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), John Cornyn (R-Tex.) and Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.).

Now, it will be interesting to see who will be the house conferees...the Senate is compose of mostly pro-immigration lawmakers...will the house only consist of tom tancredos and j.d hayworthes??..the problem with people like those 2 is, even if the borders are sealed off, they will never accept the guest worker program because they hate mexicans and want all of them deported..this is why it is so important for bush to put pressure on them during the presidential address on monday night.

also, who's in charge of picking the house referees?..if its hastret, then im very confident that he will make it 50 50 with pro-amnesty and anti-mexicans... if its boehner or sensenbrenner, i dont really know since both of then has stated he's against the senate bill....my guess is its hastert and he has a close relationship with bush, so i dont think the house referees will only consist of tom tancredoeses of the world.

where did you get this info? Can you post a link with the names of all the senate members that will participate in the conference committee?

    It was all over
But they didn't name all conferees, only those mentioned above.
