Thread: Student seeking advice

  1. #1
Hello, i'm a student here in california. I came to this country illegaly back in 92' when i was a kid. I am now 21, been in school since. Currently i am attending a comunity college with soon to receive an AA degree in leberal arts and science. But i will be transferring to UC Davis in two years for an engineering major. I was told to sing up in school using my TIN and still am, and later, way later, after being in school for three semesters, the AB-540 law was passed. I'm wondering if there is anything i can do to obtain some sort of residency? Does the AB-540 help students like me get some sort status in this country through the school? When seeking legal advice, what kind of lawer should i seek? Any information helps.

P.S. Oh yeah, i'm Mexican, with hopes of something happening either that will help our kind in the US, as well as in california. No more Arnold!!!!

AB-540 is a state law. It does nothing to help you gain legal residency because immigration is a federal matter. Nor will it help you to work legally after you complete your degrees.

No offense, but you will be caught the day you wanna apply for a job.2ndly,you could be the valedictorian of your state. The Immigration law will not care one bit of difference.
Just for the records,Arnold did not nor does he make the immigration law,so regardless who is governor, the immigration law will always stay the same.
There was a case like you in my area from a kid from germany, who got to the US with the age of 6 and when he was about graduate from high school,he had to apply for something and had to use a social security number...the thing he knew,he was arrested on the spot by Homeland Security and U.S. Costums. And he did not even know he was illegally here and still got into deep trouble, you on the other hand are already 21 fully aware that you are illegal and than you come from a country where most of the illegals are from. You need some good advice and help from attorneys...

great...yet another whining illegal, bleating the same tiresome refrain..."oh gosh, I am an illegal dirtbag, but gimme a green card, in state tuition, free medical care and a high paying job because I obviously have no respect for your laws nor country and even though I am whining scumbag, I want to take issue with California's choice for governor..." like Mexico has had some fine leaders over the years.....get the eff out of MY country
