    Hello everyone, any help will be greatly appriciated. I just got the approval of my I 797. on the approval, i am asked to wait 90 days before making contact. After those 90 days, what will happen and more importantly an how long will this process take. my lawyer want to schedule my interview in canada. if someone can help. how long will this process take. Thank you for any help.

    We need more information about your application.

    Are you oversesas or in the US?

    What are you applying for?

    Always wait, it never makes sense to call too often.

    Don't listen to federale86. He is protecting the agency - must be an officer or something. At least he always sounds like he is in bed with USCIS.

    Mark your calendar, if you had no response from USCIS within these 90 days, as soon as the 90 days have passed - give the a jingle, preferably every day.

    It will depend on which immigrant visa you applied for.

    I-797 is a notice of approval. If you are abroad, then the consulate would contact you in that 90 days to schedule an interview. If you are in the U.S. you should get your visa within that time.
