Thread: ready to fill out forms

  1. #1
    Hello experts,

I am ready to file my aos paperwork. My husband, the USC would like me to fill out all the forms including the I-130 petition , and he just wants to sign them. He will provide me with all bio/work information and supporting documents. My hand writing is more legible than his. If I fill out all the forms, especially the i-130 and affidavit, do I need to sign off as the preparer ?
Or should I just let him fill out his share of the paperwork, so there will be no issue w/ ins?

It would be nice to have it typewritten but I am not about the plunk $2000 for lawyers fees.

    Please advise.

If you fill out the forms you should indicate that in the section below where your husband will sign, it says something like if this form is being prepared by someone else......

I also suggest that your husband do more than just sign the application. Explain to him that this is your future as husband and wife and he needs to take it seriously. If the application is denied USCIS isn't going to care if your husband says well I just signed it.

You don't have to pay a lawyer a lot of money when you can do it yourself, but again take it seriously and make sure you do it correctly.

    Good luck!
