Thread: N-400 fingerprinting

  1. #1
    Hi,
I was scheduled to get my fingerprints done on 12/26/2008. Thanks to presidnet Bush, the offices were closed on that day. I have not received anything from USCIS regarding when I should go back. Is anyone else in this situation?

Did you find out that the office was closed only on the day of your figure printing? I know the notice letter should have a section saying that if you can not make it on the day of the schedule, you can propose a new date and they will mail you another notice. I had a friend who did that and she received a different notice but she did that ahead of the schedule. You can still try to do it but in the mean time, you should probably make an info pass appt and go in to find out what you need to do next. I doubt they will mail you another notice if you do not take actions.

I went to the office on my scheduled date but the office was closed due to an executive order from the president. The note on the door said I would get a new appointment letter within two weeks. Its been almost a month.

Some places allow you to redo anytime up to 120 days after the original date. That was the case in SC. It said on the NOA that if you miss the scheduled date to go again any day afterward up to 120 days beyond the original date after which your application is considered abandoned.

My friend told me that he went a week before his scheduled appointment date and they did fingure print for him. Why don't you just show up with the letter and explain the situation and maybe they will do it for you.
