Latinos to protest Obama's immigration policies
(CNN) - Latino activists said Monday they are planning a national "day of action" to protest President Barack Obama and demand an end to a controversial program involving local officials in immigration enforcement.

Actions are scheduled for Tuesday in 10 U.S. cities, including Atlanta, New York, Houston and San Francisco. Read more here

After Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain told a campaign audience that he believed the federal government should erect a deadly, electrified, 20-foot border fence to help stem the flow of illegal immigration, one of the top Hispanic lawmakers in Congress slammed the GOP hopeful for ďa staggering lack of sensitivityĒ and called on other candidates seeking the nomination to reject Cainís proposal.

It began Saturday as Cain stumped in Cookeville, Tenn., where the surging candidate detailed his solution to the countryís illegal immigration trouble. Read more here
