Thread: I-130 Past Receipt date

  1. #1
    Hi,
The I-130 that we filed (filed for my husband) had a receipt date for July 2003. I am a U.S. citizen. We filed in Nebraska. They are currently working on Sept.01, 2003. I contacted them, and they sent a letter stating that our case is under review.

Has anyone ever been in this situation, where their case has been skipped. Have you received a notice stating your case is under review, and most importantly how long did it take to receive another notice?

    veci,

I'm sorry to hear of your situation. It must be very frustrating!! I know that Nebraska must have some sever problems. All new I130 cases that I know of (including my own) have been sent to California.

Hopefully you will hear something soon if they say it is under review. You would think a review would take no longer than a couple of days as California is processing from receipt dates of August already.

    Good luck, keep us updated.

    Angie,
Thanks so much for your reply. Yes, this is extremely frustrating. I have also been reading just recently on ILW that many I-130 cases have been transferred to California as you said. I don't know if ours has though. How did you find out about your I-130 being transferred there?

It seems as though California has things a lot more together than any of the other Service Centers, so if our case is there, I hope we will be hearing something very soon.

    Thanks again,
and I most definitely keep everyone posted.

Good luck to you as well,

    Veci

    Veci,

I filed my I130/illegal spouse with Nebraska and got a receipt notice dated 08/16/04 and an RFE dated 08/23/04. Everything I have received and sent back for RFE went to California. I heard Nebraska is not working any new applications but working on their backlog so new apps are being sent directly to California.

If your receipt says Nebraska it is being processed in Nebraska and hopefully you should hear something soon.
