Thread: Political Discussions

  1. #1
It is good to discuss politics and be concerned for where you want your country to go. It is different, however when people start spewing hate and degrading the candidates and each other. If you are winning, you don't have to do this. It has become attacks on the good men and women who want to serve the country - in good faith. they have their ideals and want to make the country better. Instead of being immature and ignorant by putting up ugly pictures and saying mean derogatory things - why don't you discuss issues. There are a lot of issues that should be discusses. Or is this too much - do you not know anything about the issues and so you tear down the person. It is easier to not have to think about what you really believe in.

Yet The Deceit Can be World Wide. Every Politician Has resorted To What You Speak Of. The posters Merely Copy What Has Already Been made available By The Political Party's Involved. Mind Games have Become The Weapon Of Choice. Having More Knowledge Of The Inside!!! There are 2 Sides! Government/Politics On One Side. The Population/People On the Other!!! Thank God The People Still Fight Hard as They Have Done So For Centuries!!! Is The People That Have Created Change For the Good Of The People!!! .

Dragonlady, very appreciative and I agree wholeheartedly, but also preaching to the choir, unfortunately.

Part of the problem is the way in which the American election process is. People elect a person(s), not the politics.
Sad as that is, it's the truth. In UK, it's the party you are electing, less emphasis on the person leading it, but it still happens even then.
Add in emotions and that's why it is the way it is. Here's a good joke about what is politics

A little boy goes to his dad and asks, 'What is Politics ?'

Dad says, 'Well son, let me try to explain it this way:

I am the head of the family , so call me the President .

Your mother is the administrator of the money, so we call her the Government .

We are here to take care of your needs, so we will call you the People . The nanny, we will consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we will call him the Future .

Now think about that and see if it makes sense.'

So the little boy! Goes off to bed thinking about what Dad has said.

Later that night, he hears his baby brother crying, so he gets up to check on him.

He finds that the baby has soiled his diaper.

So the little boy goes to his parent's room and finds his mother asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny's room finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed with the nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed.

The next morning, the little boy say's to his father, "Dad, I think I understand the concept of politics now."

The father says, 'Good, son, tell me in your own words what you think politics is all about.'

The little boy replies, 'The President is scr*wing the Working Class while the Government is sound asleep. The People are being ignored and the Future is in deep sh*t .
