Thread: H1 transfer / working in multiple states

  1. #1
Is the H1 valid for all the states or should one apply for transfer to work in another state?

My H1 Company (Company A) is based in NY. And they would have applied for H1 for NY. If I have to work for a client in say Georgia, should the company apply for a transfer?

If you a link for the relevant material can you please post the same?

    Thanks

The rule of thumb in maintaining your H-1B status is by sticking to the terms and conditions of the "employer-employee relationship" as stipulated in the LCA and Form I-129.

If the Georgia company is one of your original H-1B employer's clients but you do the job for your original employer, it cannot be considered a violation.
