Thread: How to sign the Naturalization Certificate

  1. #1
What is the right way to sign the naturalization certificate? Can we sign it the same way we sign driver license and checks? Or we must wrights the whole name the way printed on the naturalization certificate? The signature thing is confusing!

Until a month ago, immigration officers always used to ask naturalization applicants to sign their photos for Naturalization Certificate in their full name in cursive which is different than day-by-day regular signature.

But recently, USCIS has changed their policy on it. Applicants can now sign their photos, application and naturalization certificate like they do on a driver license, checks and eleswhere. It's not a big deal anymore. But make sure to have the same signature on photos and certificate. Many people have faced problem when applying for US Passport for not matching the signature on these two places.

Here is the USCIS memo to revise their policy on this subject-

You have asked this questions on many immigration sites and got good responses...I wonder why you are not satisfied with those responses...Oh well....Good luck...
