U.S. Law; OK to Burn American Flag but not a foreign flag ... Outrageous !!!

    Tucson Region
City man arrested after Mexican-flag burning
    By Brady McCombs
    Arizona Daily Star
    Tucson, Arizona | Published: 04.12.2006
advertisementA Tucson man was arrested Tuesday for his role in the burning of a Mexican flag as part of a counterprotest at a pro-immigration rally.
At about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Tucson police cited Roy Warden, 58, on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and reckless burning, and then released him, according to Sgt. Decio Hopffer.
Video footage shot Monday by police and the media showed Warden assaulting a TV cameraman and a photographer, Hopffer said. Because only one of the men pressed charges, there is only one assault charge.
Warden faces the criminal-damage charge for harm done to the concrete shuffleboard court where Warden's group was burning the Mexican flag, Hopffer said.
Warden and his group, Border Guardians, arrived at Armory Park just after noon Monday to stage a counterprotest to the 15,000 marchers who were protesting what they see as unfair immigration laws. At about 2:15 p.m, they burned Mexican flags and tempers flared.
Police arrested two girls for throwing water at Warden and his group, and a scuffle broke out as police escorted them away. On Monday, Tucson police arrested six people on charges of aggravated assault on a peace officer, interfering with governmental operation, hindering prosecution and disturbing the peace.
Hopffer said police are still reviewing tape of the scuffle.
Warden said the charges are a direct result of political pressure from the Mexican Consulate.
"If they saw something unlawful, why didn't they commit an arrest then?" Warden said.
He said he plans to represent himself at his court hearing on April 24 and said he's confident he will clear himself of charges. In addition, he said he plans to sue the cameraman for defamation of character and denying his right to free speech.
Another member of Border Guardians, Laine Lawless, called the arrest a petty way to punish the group for its dissenting voice.
March organizers also questioned why it took police so long to make the arrest. They have a requested a meeting with city officials for Thursday to discuss the issue, said Zoe Hammer, spokeswoman for Border Action Network, one of the local human-rights groups that organized the march.

Im glad this guy arrested because it was clear he was trying to start a dangerous tension among the peacefull demonstraters..those guys that were burning the mexican flag were minute men nattivism..you need to understand those guys are against all immigration, not only illegal, but ALL immigration, so even if you have a green card, you are a target.

Burning the mexican flag was out of line in my opinion.

You know, its people like those ignorant white men, the ones who hold back the country, it is that mentality that puts us all in danger. Not to instigate, but i think the illegals with their peaceful protests are showing americans how civilized they are. but these white man, burning flags and so on are just proving how ignorant and stupid they are. I believe they are more uncivilized and criminal than the illegals. They commit crimes against humanity and no one seems to care. they sit on the border and shoot at illegals like if they are hunting a deer. Illegals are people too. They are not an animal that you shoot down and eat for dinner. How would they like it if the tables turn. and let me tell you something, the way things are going I wouldnt be surprised if the tables do turn.

You stupid wetback; No one is shooting at wetbacks on the border. On the contrary, wetbacks are shooting at us.

You savages say that it is wrong to burn the Wetback Flag but insist it is OK to burn the American Flag.

And then you wonder why we don't want you lying wetbacks here.

Engaged--You know why the protests were peaceful? Because to be arrested would have meant not only arrest but possibly a criminal record, no chance at any amnesty or guest worker program, and deportation. Pretty powerful incentives to good behavior for illegal aliens.

(Actually, not all were so good. Here on the East Coast, a man protesting legalization was assaulted by *****. The victim, by the way, is Mexican-American.)

There was a lot of violence during the riots of April 10th; for example, the patriot Robert Gorman was viciously attacked my masked illegal aliens during the riots.

    REMEMBER ROBERT GORMAN !!!!

first of all michael, I am not a wet back so before you start name calling inform your self. And because I am the bigger person I will not pay mind to your childish name calling. Second there are no mexicans sitting at the border under tents holding shot guns ready to fire at americans, and second they are not burning our flag. Why are you so hateful?

Aliba, I understand your point, but if they are trying to protest in a civilized manner why do ignorant people have to come and burn flags and do this and do that....I mean have some respect. If you have something to protest about do it in a civilized way.
