Thread: Citizenship/naturalization San Antonio Timeline & Lessons Learned

  1. #1
Citizenship/naturalization San Antonio Timeline & Lessons Learned

    N-400 application first sent 28 July 06
Resubmitted with correct check 7 August 06
(first check based on incorrect data on USCIS web site!!!)
Date of USCIS acknowledgement with application number 14 August 06
Date of USCIS fingerprint notification 15 August 06; one day later!
Missed fingerprinting date due to absence from town
Date of request to reschedule fingerprinting 31 August 06

    Watch this space!!!!

Lessons learned: (1) be aware that there are two dollar amounts for the N-400 fee on the USCIS website. The correct amount is, of course, $400. (2) Be aware that the USCIS can operate with lightening speed. If away from town do NOT have post office hold mail but have friend/relative receive mail and check all USCIS communications.
