Thread: name-check not required by law?

  1. #1
This is the case that caused the USCIS to recently change their policy on all PRs stuck in name-check:

Now the question is, what will happen to those of us that applied for Naturalization? They say nothing changes but if you take the time to read it, it seems the name-check was never required by law.

I wonder if they will try and remove the backlog quickly (quietly of course to save face ;-) or continue to fight each WoM action that comes thick n' fast at 'em? At least finally it's official that the FBI had nothing to do with the name-check backlog. Most of us knew this already!
