Thread: taxes and overstay!

    i am in this country because i decided to overstay but my paperwork for BCIS in being processed right now. I need to know if somebody knows if I can do my taxes without any problem. I came to th states legally so i have a social security number but then I messed it up. Can I file for it? online or hand-written? let me know somebody how should I do it!!

    What do you mean by messed up. As long as you have a genuine Social Security number there is no problem if its fake then there is.

    As for filing if this is your first time I would suggest paper. Depends when you file you should get your refund within 2-3 weeks.

    by messed it up i mean that i overstayed my visa time becuase i found that girl that is my wife for almost 2 years and my ssn# is valid

    As I said as long as you have a valid SSN there are no problems. Will you be filing as Single or Joint.
