Vermont, like most of the service centers is useless. I filed an I-130 with them, am a US citizen and it should have taken only 6 months to approve. I gave them any kind of evidence imaginable, short of a pint of blood. I too wrote to the director and was laughed at when I called and asked if he received the letter. I was told that he 'doesn't read them.' I got in contact with a congressman in my state and after he intervened and basically told me that the BCIS is a waste and won't do anything unless pushed. HE told me that the director will not ignore his inquiry. After about a month my I-130 was approved. My filed ended up being on some filing cabinet despite them saying to me that the officer had the file in his hands and a decision was pending. Bottom line is, the BCIS is full of lazy useless gov't workers.
