    "Melford Christmas"; ho ho ho

"Federal agents Tuesday arrested an immigration officer on charges of shaking down applicants for citizenship at the federal immigration office in Garden City for up to $1,000 each, officials said.

Melford Christmas' job was to screen people for suitability for citizenship, including their proficiency in English and knowledge of American history and civics, according to Benton Campbell, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District.

The arrest of Christmas, 41, at his Corona home by agents of the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security's office of inspector general was based on accounts by four different people, according to court documents.

"If convicted, Christmas' own civic lesson in the criminal justice system could result in 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine."

And rightfully so. Greed will get you no where.

Which brings a question to mind . . . wonder who he voted for in November, 2008?
